Beaune Clos des Mouches red
Beaune is one of the largest Côte de Beaune districts, covering 430 ha and with no less than 42 sectors classified as “premier cru”.

Appellation: Beaune 1er Cru
- Sector: Clos des Mouches (total surface area 25ha 18a)
- Name origin : in medieval French, « les mouches » meant bees
- Orientation: SE at the foot of Mount Saint Désiré bordering on the Pommard premier cru sectors
- Domain surface area: 74a 95ca
- Slope: 5 to 15% at an altitude of 250/300m

2 plots, the first being alongside Chardonnay vines belonging to the domain:
- Surface area: 59a92ca
- Vinestock: 161-49
- Graft: visual selection Pinot Noir planted in 1958 and clone (114,115) planted in 1986
- Soil: clay and limestone, stony and well drained

The second plot located at the top of the slope at the limit of Mount Saint Désiré:
- Surface area: 15a03ca
- Vinestock: 5BB
- Graft: visual selection planted in 1968
- Soil: shallow clay and limestone, stony

- Taste: the grapes from the two different altitudes balance to give a round and elegant wine with an aroma of ripe red berries, full- bodied and velvety on the palate.
- Serving temperature: 15-16°C and it can be advisable to decant recent vintages to enhance the aroma.
