Eight wines nominated by the « Bourgogne Aujourd'hui » judges !
Full marks ! - or
almost - for Domaine Berthelemot with eight of their wines chosen by our judges
, out of the nine submitted.
This domain of 15 hectares spread over about 10 villages and managed by Brigitte Berthelemot, her son Thomas responsible for winemaking and Marc Cugney has yet again proven to have achieved the highest level of excellence.
Motivated by Thomas, the estate is classified as organic , duly certified in 2021 and compatible biodynamic cultivation methods generalized throughout. As Thomas explains, « we are committed to improve the life of our land » by implementing such procedures as to ensure the best quality crop, for example the use of green manure, working the soil with different tools depending on the nature of the plot, leaving some rows of vines in grass, trimming the vine to give space for the grape and prevent the leaves from consuming rainwater, vital for the fruit to mature, during dry years...etc.
The crops for 2019 and 2020 were particularly successful, corresponding to the characteristics of each vintage.
