    La Garenne

  • History

  • Soil

Soil : The soil is thin and stony, resting on a subsoil of limestone slabs.

  • Our plot(s)

22a 15ca. Altitude between 360 and 380 meters. Southeast exposure. The plot is located at the top of the slope, near the woods and the summit of the hill.

The wine

  • Description

100% Chardonnay from handpicked grapes; vinified and raised in oak casks.

  • Taste

Location and altitude give to the wine great liveliness, with aromas of white flowers, almond, and flint. Its structure, which harmoniously combines freshness and precision, reveals its full potential after a few years of aging.

  • Serving temperature

12/14°C. It is recommended to decant recent vintages so as to enhance the aroma.

The vintage

  • The end of the winter was very cold ; nice weather early april was the best contitions for buds to come out ; end of may, the vines are in bloom. Hot and dry conditions in july and august helped the grapes mature quickly. We started harvest on the 31st of august on Beaune Clos des Mouches white. Fine citrus aromas, well balanced between richness and freshness, without being too pronounced nor overmatured.
