Plot /climat
Champs Goudins and Le Pré de la Folie
History
In Old French, the adjective "gaudin" means "of the woods". These woods may have been deciduous trees, possibly alluded to by Le Pré de la Folie, as "Fou" (fool) was once used to refer to the beech tree.
Soil
The plot has deep clay-silt soil. It is a poorly draining area, so residual water can be an issue in heavy rain. The limestone sublayer lies deep below the surface.
Our plot(s)
Surface area: 24 ares. The plot is located at the bottom of the slope.

Taste
A delicately fruity nose evokes small red berries, morello cherry, and violet. The mouth is refined and delicate, with deep tannins, crisp fruit, and a finish that shows great delicacy.
Serving temperature
15/16°C. Recent vintages may be decanted to enhance the aroma.
The vintage
- The end of the winter was very cold ; nice weather early april was the best contitions for buds to come out ; end of may, the vines are in bloom. Hot and dry conditions in july and august helped the grapes mature quickly. We started harvest on the 31st of august on Beaune Clos des Mouches white. Dark in colour, cassis or blackcurrant aromas, rich and concentrated sensation in the mouth, well balanced acidity and full tannins.
