Les Bressandes
History
It is said that three young ladies from Bresse gave their name to the former quarry, which was later filled in and planted with vines. More likely, the name originates from Jean Bressand, advisor to the Bishop of Beaune in the 13th century.
Soil
The soil is composed of ferruginous clay, silt, and abundant outcroppings of friable limestone.
Our plot(s)
Surface area: 94 ares. The plot is located at the top of the hillside, facing east. With a slope reaching up to 15%, it is among the steepest of the vineyard.

The vintage
- The end of the winter was very cold ; nice weather early april was the best contitions for buds to come out ; end of may, the vines are in bloom. Hot and dry conditions in july and august helped the grapes mature quickly. We started harvest on the 31st of august on Beaune Clos des Mouches white. Dark in colour, cassis or blackcurrant aromas, rich and concentrated sensation in the mouth, well balanced acidity and full tannins.
