    Les Bressandes

  • History

It is said that the plot, formerly an old quarry filled in and planted with vines, was given the name by 3 spinsters from the Bresse region; however, it is more likely that the name originates from "broussailles" (brushwood) or "broisse" in old French vernacular.

The wine

  • Description

100% Pinot Noir from handpicked grapes and raised in oak casks.

  • Taste

It is forceful on the nose combining aromas of violets and black fruit and a delicately toasted sensation; at the start in the mouth it is full and rich, followed by deep fruitiness and then a slight saline finish.

  • Serving temperature

15/16°C. It is recommended to decante recent vintages so as to enhance the aroma.

The vintage

  • The end of the winter was very cold ; nice weather early april was the best contitions for buds to come out ; end of may, the vines are in bloom. Hot and dry conditions in july and august helped the grapes mature quickly. We started harvest on the 31st of august on Beaune Clos des Mouches white. Dark in colour, cassis or blackcurrant aromas, rich and concentrated sensation in the mouth, well balanced acidity and full tannins.
