La Maladière (total surface area 13ha 58a)
History
The name "Maladière" refers to the remnants of leper houses ("maladreries") that once treated the sick during the Middle Ages. These establishments were often located in sunny areas, away from residential homes.
Soil
The soil has a reddish/ochre tint, indicating the presence of iron oxide in the clays. The subsoil, composed of limestone and dolomite, produces many small and friable rocks.
Our plot(s)

Taste
Rich red in colour, the wine has red fruit aromas; in the mouth it is supple but well structured with fine tannins and a persistent finish.

The vintage
- The end of the winter was very cold ; nice weather early april was the best contitions for buds to come out ; end of may, the vines are in bloom. Hot and dry conditions in july and august helped the grapes mature quickly. We started harvest on the 31st of august on Beaune Clos des Mouches white. Dark in colour, cassis or blackcurrant aromas, rich and concentrated sensation in the mouth, well balanced acidity and full tannins.
